It's a tough decision. I'm after two high performance fans for my 240 radiator in my water cooling setup.

The Everflow 120mm got a very nice review in the Cooling Sticky and so I've been considering it.

However the Scythe Gentle Typhoon (the most powerful model is the one I'm looking at more specifically) I have seen praised innumerous times for its incredible performance and ability to maintain a silent profile while doing so.

In the end I realise it does basically come down to "it's whatever you like/want".

But I would like opinionative answers here, I don't want a jet engine of a computer and current the Everflow would be the loudest component of my build (unless most pumps go past 40db level?). The Gentle Typhoon has a lower air flow however a significantly quieter sound level.

If you had to pick between the two which would you choose?

If you want a bit more information, these fans will be placed at the second radiator of a loop, with the first radiator consisting of three fans of a different type. This loop is being powered by a swiftech mcp35x pump and is planned to be dispersing heat from an intel i7 3930k (possibly to be overclocked) and two NVidia GTX 700 series flagships in SLI once they are released. With the calculations I've done, the Delta T should be quite low and ambient temperature should also be well within acceptable limits. I've allowed for headroom in my calculations.

So opinions? Suggestions? Outright this or that? I'd really like to hear it all.

Here's the pages listing specifications on the fans for quick comparison:
