overclocking i5 3570k 3.8ghz

hi i want to overclock my i5 3570k at 3.8ghz(i know that it has a turbo boost from 3.4 to 3.8) bt still i want my pure cpu power all time !! i have also disabled speedstep c1e c3 and c6 so that i can get pure 3.8ghz and stable voltage at all times ... now i my vcore voltage is fixed at 1.24 so now my question is that is this voltage the right voltage or should i try decreasing it to u can say 1.20 ? please answer really trust this site :)

Ok so the Vcore IN BIOS (I say in BIOS because it's easy just to set it like that) for a 3.8ghz overclock should be either the default voltage (I have default voltage running 4ghz...

Try to find the lowest stable voltage and once you BSOD (or other errors) raise the voltage to the last known stable voltage. Are you sure it says 1.24V in BIOS (or are you saying that's what a 3rd party program is saying?) because that's REALLY high for a BIOS setting for a 3.8ghz clock

no actually on auto the setting the offset voltage is set to 0.00+ but i have manually selected+0.05 voltage .. i suppose i can decrease it back to 0.00 or even to -0.05(not sure whether the -0.05 will work or not :/ )

Wait which setting are you changing for overclocking? You should be changing Vcore (the one that should say roughly 1.135 as the default) leave the rest at their default values (actually input the default values don't put them on auto, never use auto)

so my question for u is that what vcore voltage is good for 3.8ghz ?? according to u what do u think it should be ?? and yes i am telling u the voltage by using asrock extreme utility which gives the precise information unlike cpu-z which givee approx. values!

Ok so the Vcore IN BIOS (I say in BIOS because it's easy just to set it like that) for a 3.8ghz overclock should be either the default voltage (I have default voltage running 4ghz 100% stable) or 0.005V above default (my default is 1.140V in BIOS). BIOS settings and your asrock utility reading will be very different, generally when overclocking people use the BIOS setting, so go by that. Also if you want change the CPU PLL from 1.8V (thats what mine was) down to 1.7V, it's always overdone on ivy bridge CPUs

bro all i want to know is that wat vcore voltage shall i use ?? currently its running on 1.24v with offset voltage on +0.05 ... so according to u what voltage should it be so that it can easily handle 3570k at 3.8ghz during the 100% load ! should it be 1.20 v or 1.15 or 1.10 what ??

Ok, I will give you a value but I hope you know that there is no one size fits all value for CPU overclocking voltages. I say put it as 1.14V IN BIOS. So it will probably read about 1.22V in asrock utility. Is that ok?

no i overclock using my BIOS but i see my vcore voltage using cpu-z or asrock extreme utility

k so i am currently running on 1.24v with +0.05 offset voltage so if means if i run on -0.05 offset voltage ill run on 114 vcore voltage right ??? so k it means i got to set my offset voltage to -0.05 now :) thanx alot bro for ur help and ur time .. really appreciate it :)
