okay , my wd my passport Essential SE 1 TB external hd is working but since that time i had checked errors using the tools in the windows . the checking suddenly hanged so i left it for a whole day but it was still the same as i left it so i plugged out my external hd and plugged it in again after that i had to format it to work again so finally the hard shows on my "computer" but takes too long to read
and i can't copy to it more than 500 MB
or it will hangs.

this is the problem . so...

first off don't just unplug you external Hard Drive, it can corrupt data, or damage your PCB.
use http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/item/seatools-win-master/ to run a diagnostics on the hard drive.

don't even try to remove the hard drive from the external case, as to almost all wd external drive encrypt it's data. the only way to recover them it with the original external case.

also i suggest you prepare for data recovery just in case.

btw. i tried searching for WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic i can't find a download link to it.
