Im looking at one of these three psu for my new computer.

SeaSonic M12II 650

SeaSonic S12II 620 Bronze 620W

COOLER MASTER GX 650W

COOLER MASTER GX 750W

One big difference is the two cheaper models come with two PCI-E and the others with four. Other then graphics cards what are these needed for. Also what are the other connectors used for?

As well as this I was wondering what "semi modular" means?

Finally what PSU would you recommend?

My pc parts are (already purchased)

  • Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3
  • AMD FX-8530
  • Sapphire HD7850
  • G.Skill RIPJAWS 2x4GB 1600MHz
  • Cooler Master Centurion 6

  • Thanks a lot :D

genrally you use 2 pci'e for each gpu if there high power ones. so 4 pci'e connectors are for crossfire/sli configurations.

semi modular means that the cpu and motherboard connectors are wired by default, but you can pick what cables to connect for hard drives, gpu's and molex powered devices.

i would recomend the cooler master 6 if you intend to crossfire, otherwise any would do.

Avoid the Cooler Master GX PSUs, they're crap.
