On A Windows XP (32bit) system I had a problem that caused me to do a repair install. Now the NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 graphics card is not shown in Device manger, hence window drags & scrolling are jerky and there is no standby option.

I was not sure whether I introduced the problem with the repair so I recovered from image backup and saw that there was a Display device section in device Manager and that window dragging worked fine. I re-did the repair install and the problem is back - even after a SFC/scannow.

The same problem exists if I use the MS-6741 mobo VGA socket. I have visited MSI Live Update and from that know that there are no BIOS or driver updates available. I used Double Driver to save the version 6.6.3.1 drivers before I started but restoring them does not error or help.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it but my reward was:
"The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit"

The card is obviously working but with nothing in Device Manager I presume it is using default MS drivers. I would suspect a board issue except that it worked fine before my repair install.
