Hello Guys,

I need your advice about my memory I already had 2 8 Gb 1600 mhz. I want to add 2 more 8Gb now I was thinking about the Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB at 1866 Mhz.

Which of the 2 should I buy? same as previous memory or the 1866? Is it compatible to each other even if they have different speed, if i would OC it next time?

my mobo is Asrock z77 extreme6/Tb4

Depends, if you are working with massive file sizes then you might need to add more. Until you find yourself running out of ram I don't see a reason to get more.

I wouldnt run 2 different speeds of ram together could easily not work together, generally with ram you want to run the same modules together. Difference between 1866 and 1600 is unnoticeable unless you benchmark and still its minimal.

Thanks so much jts23. I didn't read before I bought that one. I just realize that memory also is a great factor on gaming performance. Which my mobo supported upto 2400 mhz. so def would buy the same memory

So you already have two 8gb sticks? If so and you only do gaming you have more than enough ram. Ram speed doesn't matter at all for gaming. Even going from 1333 to 2100 is less than 1fps difference.
