Hi...!
I'm new in creating a FTP server and I've got a big problem!
I done the tutorials step by step and create a FTP server and it works fine for me but when I give that link to my friend it's shows error to her and it doesn't open it opens just for me!!!...
this is the link:ftp://192.168.1.100/
what is my problem?!
thanks...

192.168.1.xxx is an IP address on your internal network. Any machine inside your router can see it. Any machine outside your router (your friend next door), cannot see it You public address, given to you by your ISP, is something completely different. ex. 70.145.63.xxx.

You can forward outside data and connections to your internal network. But you are opening up a host of potential problems if you do.

Unless there is a specific need for the FTP protocol, something like Dropbox to share files would be much, much easier and safer.

Supporting FTP can be problematic, esp. for a home user.

As USAFRet says, something like Dropbox, Box, etc., is much easier and safer, since you don't need to run your own FTP server, manage ports, deal w/ all the firewall issues, etc., but instead simply provide a link to the person you want to share the file(s) with.

But if you insist on running your own FTP server, hopefully the link I provided will give you an idea about why this is difficult to support.
