Hello people,

First of all, thanks in advance for the attempts of helping me out. I tend to search first for solutions in the internet before bothering you guys, but I have been unsuccesfull in finding a fix for my issue.

What happens is the following: After I turn on my PC my computer connects just fine to the internet, but after a couple of minutes of browsing I lose internet connection and the yellow triangle pops up saying I have no internet access. I know the problem isn't with my internet becuase the connection remains normal in my laptop (connected by wifi)

I have already formatted my PC and reinstalled Windows, and no amount of restarting my modem or disabling/enabling my network changes this. Yet, if I restart my PC my internet access is normal again (for another couple of minutes).

My PC is linked directly to my modem by ethernet cable, and I have switched cables in order to ensure that it wasn't just a faulty cable. I have don't/can't have a fixed IP or gateway because of my ISP setting, but I have a fixed DNS server.

My current PC spec is:

Windows 7 Pro 64 bits
Inter i5 3570 3.4gz
H77-DS3H Gigabyte Motherboard
GForce GTX 550ti graphic card
16 Gigabytes of Corsair Ram
650 Hz of Corsair power supply.

Thanks alot for helping me peeps, I'm going crazy without being able to play any sort of Internet Games.

It is possible that the ethernet adapter on your motherboard has opted for early retirement. It could also be power settings though. Find your network adapter in Device Manager and make sure it is set to maximum performance, and NEVER allowed to power down to save energy.

I don't know how to set it to Maximum performance, but I wen't to the Device manager and I unticked the box that said the windows could shut the device OFF in order to save power.

I don't know if this will fix it, but thanks for the input!

Well, I did 3 things and since then my internet hasn't dropped.

1- Unticked the TCP/IPv6
2- Unticked the Power saving option
3- Disabled the Computer Browsing in windows systems.

I don't know which one did it, but I believe it was one of the first two options. I had unticked the IPv6 Just before posting this, so I don't know which one did it, but my internet is not longer losing connection.

I'm going to leave this open for the next 24 hours, if nothing happens I believe its solved!

Well, I have found that if I turn off the router in my house (The router takes the signal of my wi-fi modem that is linked directly to my PC and expands it to the rest of my house) this problem stops..

How can the router be interfering with my PC internet, since it's linked by cable to with the modem?

Does anyone have any idea?

I'm not sure what you are suggesting, but I can't connect my PC to the router, since it is in the living room, while the modem is in my room (connected to my PC).

Since the house I live in is kinda big, we need the router in the living room to get the signal to the rest of the house.

I don't know people, the problem sort of went away. Most of the time it works, sometimes I lose my internet connection and when I reset it is working again. I am moving out in a couple of weeks and I won't have a router there. If the problem persists I'll open a new thread, till then I'll considered it solved, thanks alot for your help"
