Hard drive fried.

Hi there, noobie here again... This time my HDD fried. It has a burnt mark on it and im sure its useless now. What went wrong? Might the HDD be defective? I'm sure i plugged everything in correctly becaus my SDD is running fine.

Hard to tell exactly what went wrong, but yes...it is probably fried. You let the magic smoke out.

There have been some successes with replacing the circuit board, but not something I'd suggest for a newbie to try.
