I recently purchased a Sapphire amd hd7870 oc 2gb gddr5 gpu for my pc.
I managed to physically install it into the motherboard(gigabyte z68ap-d3) with no problems but when i plugged the hdmi into the mobo's output it sent no visual signals to the monitor, i tried plugging the hdmi cable into the gpu itself, doubting it would work as i had not yet installed the drivers. needless to say, it didn't.

I then removed the graphics card and turned on the pc and it worked fine as normal, i took the oppurtunity to install the drivers provided with the gpu (on a disc) and all was well until i switched off the pc, replaced the gpu into the motherboard and restarted the computer. Once again the same problem occured. Also the gpu does power up and the fans do turn and everything appears to be inworking order but again no visual signals are sent from the motherboards hdmi output nor the gpu's.

I have no idea what else to do as this is my first build and I am fairly new to computers on the whole.
any help would be much appreciated as it was an expensive card and would be a terrible shame to go to waste.

sidenote: i have contacted the manufacturers (sapphire) and they have been less than helpful, and return really isnt an option as it has been unboxed and "used"

Thanks a lot,
Adam

Sapphire has a standard 90day return policy. They won't refund your money but they will REPLACE a faulty gpu with a functioning one. Did you buy this gpu used?

if you bought it new, you should be alright to get a replacement atleast.
