Hi folks,

I have a 32gb microsd in fat32 format that I use in my android smartphone . How do i partition it ? Windows 8 wont shrink it or resize it so I imagine I'm going to need a third party software to do this ? Oh yeh and I've backed it up just want to stick an 8gb partition on it.

Can be partitioned using EaseUs Partition Manager,
http://download.cnet.com/EaseUS-Partition-Master-Home-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html
i.e you can reduce the Primary partition and leave Unallocated space, but when you come to create the 2nd partition there is a warning that Windows can only see the primary partition on removable devices. Not too sure what that means, not going to risk it in case I can't reverse the procedure...

if you could help me I'll really appreciate it, I did all of the steps, rooted my phone (LG l9 lgms769 metro pcs), downloaded the partition mini tool and made the 2 partitions on a 64 gb memory card, the partition tool sends a warning that if I make a second partition windows will not recognize it but i made it anyway, after that the first partition (primary FAT32) looks good but the second one just simply appear as other, no info on the file system, no option to format it, nothing just to delete it, I thought it was normal so i put it on my phone and when I use the link2sd it says:

mount script cannot be created
mount:invalid argument

no matter how I create the second partition (ext2, ext3, etc) the result is the same, please help

put SD card in your phone and unmount it in storage options. Then download AParted from the play store, open it and grant root access then you can partition your sd anyway you need to. Warning it will erase everything on the sd card.
I used this on a LG F6 with link2sd to solve my low memory problems.. works great.
