Will Games Run Well on This Setup?

I'm planning on buying a prebuilt computer the HP Pavilion p6-2429 (http://bit.ly/17kNj3x if you want to see specs) and switching video cards to Radeon 6670 DDR5. Will it run games like Dota 2, Sims 3, Simcity, and Minecraft, well? Also I'm in a $550 budget so feel free to suggest other options. But please no "build a computer".

Thanks in advance :)

Beware of HP desktops. Many of them use a custom PSU and are incompatible with a standard ATX PSU design. If you have an opportunity to open the system up before you buy, make sure you check for this.

As for the system itself, the AMD APU's are not known for their raw performance. I see you're on a pretty tight budget. Do you currently own the Radeon 6670?

No, planning on buying it 2 weeks from now, I just don't want to near the date and buy it for no reason. (http://amzn.to/17F50hh Radeon 6670 DDR5) If you have any other computer suggestions feel free.

Actually, I think this can work. It's $644 full total of everything, anyway possible to get it lower? Like keeping the Radeon 6670 DDR5?

I think I want to stick with the 6670. I have seen reviews on it saying that the 300W was actually not an issue, but I still want to upgrade. I want to upgrade to like 450 or 400W the 500W just goes super high. My budget is super tight.

I see. I generally would try to avoid a PC made by the larger OEM companies, ie Dell, HP and so on. They generally use parts that are engineered specifically for their product. It's usually of low quality and restricted in some way. For example it's nearly impossible to overclock. My recommendation is you turn to a system builder for your needs. Even a low end custom PC will at least have off the shelf components. The wire management may not be top notch but it won't be any worse than an OEM. This way you get most of the benefits of building it yourself without actually doing so.

I realize you're on tight budget but if you can save a little more, even if it means waiting a month or so, it's worth it. Buying respectable tech will last you a lot long and provide better upgrade paths should decide to imbue your machine with additional power down the road.

What resolutions do you intend to game at?

1440x900. I'm not sure as to where I can get a computer built in Canada, though.

Not the best with computers, not really sure as to what you just said.

Okay. It seems that a custom rig is just too far outside your budget to make it feasible. Since this is the case I'd recommend going with something similar to what you had listed and invest in something like this for the video card.

"Up to you but the 6670 have DDR3 ram compare to DDR5"

He's talking about the type of ram on the 6670. DDR3 is significantly slower than DDR5 and bottlenecks the performance of the card by a lot. If you're buying a new card I'd suggest sticking with the AMD HD7000 series or nvidia's GTX 600 series.

The GTX 650 TI is a great card.

That 450W PSU doesn't ship to my location, I have to use amazon.ca most times.
