I just purchased two MSI R7850 Twin Frozr III so I could crossfire them on my new system. I am using a MSI 990 FXA-GD80 motherboard and the crossfire connectors that came with it are too small for the Twin Frozr. Is there anywhere I can purchase a crossfire connector of a suitable size?

The part of the connector that actually locks onto the card is too small. Unfortunately the card did not come with a connector, I have been trying to use the ones that came with the motherboard.

it's a SLI cable for nvidia card (that came with mobo) not CFx cable for amd card, u will need to buy CFx cable....

edit: Before buying u can always ask at friend or family, some card is bundled with cfx cable and not being used... (the cfx cable spec is not changed)

Yeah, you probably are using a SLi cable that is used for Nvidia cards.

I have two 7850 Twin Frozr 2GB OC's and they both came with crossfire connectors. Weird yours does not.

I have a crossfire connector from an older card, but it does not lock into place on the cards. It felt loose so I have not run the system with it yet. Is it supposed to be loose or should it snap into place?

I have them in two separate systems, but I will crossfire them this weekend because I want to see what kind of performance increase I get. I have to take one of the PC's apart to install new fans anyway. I'll let you know Sunday as I've never crossfired cards before.

If you live in the US I can probably send you one of the connectors via snail mail. Send me a PM with your address and I'll keep you posted.
