My hdmi cable won't work

Hi i have a Hisense 40" samrt tv and the hdmi cable i have connected won't display in full 1080p. windows detects the tv as a Pnp monitor and it won't let me set resolutions settings

Have you tried another Cable? or tried that cable with another computer? Clean the HDMI on the pc and on the TV with a Air Spray.

use nvidia or amd catalyst to set resolution after you detect it through the software.

the hdmi cable has been cleaned and it its currently hook through display port via an display port to dvi active converter to dvi-hdmi converter the hdmi cable brand is rocket fish and the video card is xfx redeon HD6670 2gb video card

the reason i'm using dispaly port is the cable won't work when plugged in to a hdmi port it won't work on my tv or xbox 360 either.
