Hey guys. So I'm upgrading my 5 year old pc. Is the GTX660Ti a good upgrade from GTX550Ti? I'm still having low FPS on games. Is this a good idea? Will it bottleneck alot? Thanks!

Specs:

MOBO: Intel DG35EC
CPU:Core 2 Duo e8400 @3.00ghz
GPU:GTX550Ti
RAM:4gb
OS:Win7 64bit

I have the same card but I run a quad core with no problems. You might run into problems. Go to the website for the card and check the system requirments. Also make sure you have a big enough power supply. It is recommended to have 600W power supply. It will also require to have two six pin power connectors as well so make sure you have two available.

Run some tests and see if your CPU is currently a bottleneck and then move from there. Here is a good video by Linus about testing bottlenecks.

Yeah i have a 600w psu with 2 pci-e pins. Im thinking of upgrading my e8400 to a q8400 though. I've read the "Installation Guide" of the GTX660Ti and i'm compatible.

Well, I play Minecraft with all ultra settings. I get 20-40FPS. I play Euro truck driving simulator. I get about 10-30fps in ultra settings. Newer games like BF3 and Far Cry 3, i cant play it on my pc. GPU is too slow.
