Need help for my gaming configuration

Hi everybody,

I need your help for building my gaming configuration. I'm sorry for my english but it's not my first language.

The are the specs so far:

CPU: i5 3570k
Motherbord: ASUS/Asrock Z77 m-ATX/mini-ITX depending on the case
RAM: Corsair 8GB 1600Ghz
GPU: Sapphire HD7970 OC 3GB or GTX680 or equivalent depending on heat and power consumption
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5"
PSU: Antec HCG-620M
ODD: Any kind

I really like these Lian-Li cases because of their "minimalism style":

PC-V354
PC-V355
PC-Q08
PC-Q18
PC-Q25

But I don't know if they are enough for the heat of the GPU.
I would like to remain into the mini-itx or "little" m-atx type of case if possible. I'm also looking for silence if possible..

Have you consider a Bitfenix Prodigy

Also what the budget?

The budget is like 1000€, I dont't need a monitor since it will be in my living room connected to the HDTV.

I'm also considering HTPC cases, but I dont't know if they're enough for the heat of the GPU.

I, ehm...don't like the handles of the Prodigy..

You would have to get a reference cooler where it blow the heat out the back.

You can take a look at some Silverstone cases too

CPU:3570k
Ram:2X4 ram
PSU:Corsair 550W
GPU: eVGA GTX 670
Motherboard:Asrock Z77m
SSD: Samsung 840 pro 128gb or vector 4
HDD: 1 TB of WD blue

Would something change with the GTX670?

Can i use those Lian-Li cases with this GPU?

PC-Q25 and PC-V355 would. The difference between 670 and 680 is not that much few performancei.increase like 10% .Compare to the 7970 the AMD has 3gb GDDR5 which would be a benefit later on when game start to use more GDDR5. But the AMD produce more watts and heat.

What do you think about the Silverstone TJ08-e? Would it be good for a 7970?
Or...680 if it makes less heat and watt.

Judging by the reviews it seems to have a good ventilation.

Ah, and what about the Silverstone GD06 or GD07?

Yes it does look like a good case with all the ventilation on the tj08

I think I would go for a tj08e with a gtx 680 because it has the best noise and temp.

Also get a good air cooler like the be quiet dark rock 2 or a noctua one

Are you going to overclock? If not get a non k processor like 3470 with a h77 board

Did you check the GD06, GD07 or the Node 605 from Fractal Design? Can they hold the 7970 or the 680?

I just wanted to let you guys know that I emailed Lian-Li about choosing the right case for the 7970. Here is their answer:

Dear ,

PC-V354 is good than V355 for the AMD7970.

If you want to choose the better case, PC-A04 is for your reference.

So I think I'll choose PC-A04 because I think it's more "elegant" than TJ08-e, even I would prefer the PC-V354.
Can I really fit an 7970 in the PC-A04?
