Hi, I have an Acer 5750 (aspire) and it will not charge. Any ideas onwhat I need to do to get this resolved. I have tried my charger and my sons and neither worked on this laptop yet are fine with the other laptop so I am assuming it is to do with the laptop.

I have this same issue going on. I just replaced the battery. Received the new battery in the mail. Installed the battery and exhausted the power as directed by the battery manufactureS first step in care for my battery. I then plugged in the power cable in order to charge this Battery to full power and it will not charge. I get two flashing lights on my lap top. The blue and orange lights flash.
When the battery charges I should see a solid orange light.
What is wrong? I have already tried another power cable to see if that was the problem. Same issue going on. I cannot charge the battery in my lap top.
Can anyone help me?

No, it well not work without the battery in place. I thought it should work without the battery in place.
I do believe that i have a short in the lap top plug.
