I've just put a new 660 into my pc along with a fresh 3tb HDD (so clean install of Vista). The problem is, the only semi usable resolution is 1680x1050, even though I'm using a 1080p led tv. When the resolution is changed to 1920x1080 it becomes atleast an inch to big for the screen and incredibly blurry. All the drivers are upto date, I've tried two different HDMI cables, played around with every setting and just can't get the thing to work. Does anyone have any advice?

are you sure the tv supports 1080p when connected to the pc?if i remember it right, older tv's can only handle 720 when using a pc. i may be wrong though.
and i think that you should be fine since you are using hdmi
It's a newish (got it back in summer last year) Samsung led TV so I'm guessing 1080p should work fine? I used to have my old gts 250 connected with a vga and 1920x1080 worked perfectly.

what exact tv is it? what is the tv's native resolution? I still see cheap 50" tv's on the market that are marked as "HD" tv's but are not 1080p, they are 720p or less. I have a gtx660 and it outputs 1080p to my lcd tv just fine through hdmi. Sounds like your tv is not 1080p native resolution. It's a Samsung ue32d5520rkxxu

None of the scaling options make any difference. I'm currently using HDMI
Check your TV settings. Make sure the picture is set to 16:9 instead of one of the zoom settings. You can also go into your TV settings Menu--> Picture --> Screen Adjustment --> "Screen Fit" and manually adjust the image.

Screen fit has helped to an extent, it now fits the screen perfectly, however it's still blurry especially text.

Turn OFF FXAA in the Nvidia Control Panel.
Make sure you scroll all the way through your Nvidia Control Panel resolution settings. There is often a section for PC's and then if you continue to scroll, a section for TV's. Make sure your refresh rate is set at exactly 60 Hz (or whatever your native refresh rate is).
I can also recommend that you try to use a Dual Link DVI cable, rather than HDMI, unless you need HDMI to transfer sound to your TV speakers. The Dual Link DVI will enable your monitor to be used like a PC monitor and shut off when you shut off the PC. With HDMI, you will need to turn the monitor off and on separately.
