How Can I get rid of memory full error message??

My PC has 2 GB RAM. I am trying to put some data into my drive..But I am getting the message "Memory full". But when I check the memory, I find that it is not full. Why I am getting this kind of error??? Can anyone help me out?

sounds like you have a lot of programs running, and not enough ram to run them. if you do "ctrl-alt-del" you can see what programs are running consuming all of your RAM

how did you check that you indeed have some rams left? best solution, add more rams. get another 2gb stick at least

Is the destination HD formatted with Fat, Fat32 or NTFS?
