Hi, girl in trouble after playing around with the boyfriends tech when he's away and now i can't get it to work!!!
So, we've got a tivo box and a sony blu ray surround sound player all connected to a tv via hdmi cables. These are the only ones i removed to plug it all up too our old tv (moved the new one into a different room) It's worked before so i know that its all compatible.
Basically, i just connected the cables into the new tv and thought it would all work fine.
Firstly there was sound, but not coming through the blu ray surround sound, just the tv. It was also really crackly.
I tried every setting for the surround sound but no joy.
I then just switched the cables to see if it made any difference, but now theres no sound at all. To begin with there would be a second of sound (i think through the blu ray) but then it would crackle and die. Now theres not even that. (Just as i was sat writing this a burst of sound came out and then went again!) and theres a faint static noise.
Is it a dodgy cable maybe? Though it all worked fine hooked upto my other tv.

I am completely stumped and thought this would be the easiest thing to do! I can see its going to be something stupidly simple but please, any help muchly appreciated!
