I'm about to go and order all the parts for my first PC build which I will use for gaming. I'm fairly certain after looking around that all these parts work well with each other and I've got the stuff I'm going to need to play all my games. I'm also hoping to overclock this at this point down the line...

I just figured that posting my build on here couldn't do any harm, I've been using this forum to help me along the way of selecting my parts but I wanted to post the final build so here it is:

Processor: Intel i5 3570k @ 3.40GHZ

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX670 Graphics Card (2GB GDDR5, PCI-E)

RAM: 16GB DDR3 (I'm afraid I don't have more details about my RAM at the moment, tomorrow I'll have this updated.)

Storage: Crucial 128GB SSD ATA 300 2.5" M4, 2TB HDD Samsung (I'm going to the HDD from my current PC.)

Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V PRO (Socket LGA1155)

PSU: Corsair GS 600w ATX/EPS

Optical Drive: I don't have much detail about this, I know it'sa pretty basic model DVD+RW and DVD+R, so it will do.

Case: Antec 300 Ultimate Gaming Case

Extras: Hyper 212 CPU Cooler

Well that's my build, if I've missed something out I'm sure I'll have it written down somewhere so just say what I've not put down.

The case I've bought also supports 3 optional fans, so I've already got a 120mm fan to go on the side of my case.

Any help would be appreciated, so thanks in advance.

If your overclocking pick up a cooler for your cpu. You can get a hyper 212 evo for 30 bucks. Also you don't NEED 16gb of RAM but why not if you have the cash. You could put it toward a 680 though. IF you WANT you can get 8gb for arond 50 bucks less.

Thanks for the comments, I'll go and add a CPU cooler to the list, probably the Hyper 212 you said. About the RAM - I have 8GB in my current my PC and a while ago I went and bought 2 4GB sticks, so the RAM isn't so much there because I need it, but because I already have it and may as well put it to use. Thanks for the replies though, much appreciated.

Pick up a hyper 212 for 20, I have a vanilla 680 and its not worth it over 670. I game and browse, do homework watch netflix. I do a lot of multiple things at a time and hit around 4gb... But I have 16gb. Ram is cheap and I'd say go for it.

You probably want an optical drive. You'll need it to install Windows, and even if you get a lot of your software online, you may want to watch a movie, burn backups, or other task needing an optical drive.
For overclocking, I'd recommend a mobo from Asus, Gigabyte, or ASRock. MSI has a reputation for weak VRMs that may pop under load. That one has heatsinks on its VRMs which is good, however it appears to only have 3+1 phases, which is weak.
Also if you will overclock, get a $20 Xigmatek Gaia. It cools within 1C of the much more expensive Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO, but is also 6db quieter (per Frostytech reviews). If you are not interested in overclocking, then you can save some money by getting a non-K CPU, like an i5-3470.

I just tried to answer, but I don't think it went through. Sorry if this ends up as a double post.
That Crucial V4 is a bit of a lemon drive (unlike the M4 which is great). See this http://www.anandtech.com/show/6325/crucial-v4-256gb-review/10.
You might be better off with a Samsung 840 (non-pro) if you're after a 'relatively' budget SSD.
Nice build though.

Oh and I would get a 4gb 670, if you ever want to upgrade your display you can. Oh and I would definitely get an optical drive... And get a k unlocked version of a card trust me overclocking is easy. And I love ASUS, I have an ASUS mobo, ASUS laptop, and an ASUS Nexus 7. All work great for me :)

The optical drive I forgot to mention - I'm going to use the one in my current PC since it works fine and it's not worth spending the £20 just buy a new one, so I may aswell recycle some of my old stuff, RAM and the HDD being examples.

Thanks for the reccomendations about changes; I'll take a look at the M4. As far as I can see the Z77A-G45 is only MSI?

Thanks for raising that, I hadn't seen that review. It is indeed pretty brutal, and worse than others I've read. I refute their write-endurance figures though, they claim 3.5-4 years which is crazy-low. http://www.anandtech.com/show/6459/samsung-ssd-840-testing-the-endurance-of-tlc-nand claims over 10 years at 10GB writes a day, which is on the high side for an OS drive on a standard gaming rig. Anyway, don't want to hijack the thread. There must be some decent budget 120GB SSDs out there, I feel like the benefits of the more expensive 840 Pro and M4 aren't really that important for most users.
