I am building a new PC for my son. Everything was working and try to install the win7 but during the installation win7 cannot find the drive C. I checked my bios and it sees the HDD (its 500G WD for laptop 2.5"). The SATA is set for Native drive. What am I doing wrong?

When booting, is your SSD or HDD detected and listed by BIOS?

You could always modify your SATA controller in BIOS to emulate IDE for the purposes of installation, then use Microsoft's Fix-it utility to activate the msahci driver in Windows, and set your BIOS back to AHCI mode for the SATA ports.

But really, neither of you have confirmed that the devices are even being detected by BIOS. :)

Note: Do not change the SATA controller mode to AHCI without first applying the Microsoft Fix-it, unless the operating system was initially installed with AHCI mode turned on. You will receive a blue screen and be unable to successfully boot Windows until you change it back. The Fix-it utility for Windows can be found here:

Thanks all,
I found my problem. I was using the HDD for laptop and I was told some BIOS have problem using the 2.5" HDD for laptop. I replaced the HDD for desktop and everything is working now.
BTW, when I was using the 2.5"-HDD, the BIOS read the HDD correctly but could not access to it during OS installation.
