Both are neck and neck, I like my 680. But I would get the 670 honestly instead. And like EVGA alot, just my .02

Generally, I'm more apt to recommend two moderately priced cards than a single GPU ..... way lower cost per frame. Without budget restraints, the card(s) I most often use is the 670

Right now the 7870 LE/MYST/XT all have the best bang for the buck. They don't perform as high as a 670.

An excellent card. I had the 4gb asus 670 and its works very well. The nice thing too being that the 670 version is a 2 slot cooler rather than the 680 being a 3 slot cooler along with the 7950 and 7970 versions both being 3 slot as well. Runs very cool and quiet even at max load. Good as well if you want to overclock.

Actually the Myst Edition can compete with the 670, to answer the TS I would pick the 7970Ghz Vapor X over any GTX 680. Nvidia still has problems with Tomb Raider one of the biggest game releases.

No problems here with that game. Aside from the hair thing which doesn't render correctly everything else was flawless for me. I ran it on a 670 and on my gtx titan.

I've heard this from people, but what is interesting is that most benchmarks show the game favoring Nvidia's cards. For myself, the game runs great on 680's.

As long as you aren't planning on going with another down the road for Crossfire, it is a good choice. Otherwise, if you do, I'd go with a 670 for now.

At 1080p resolution any of the cards will work good. I'd pick the cheapest of them. Going over 1080p if you want to stick with a single card then probably 7970 would be a good choice with the larger memory bus.
