old HHD new computer will it work

I got a new motherborad,ram and processor and i had a 775 intel and now i want to go to a 1155 intel socket,16GB ram and Z77 motherborad and i have windows 7 64 bit on it now and can i install it and let it workout all the stuff on it own or is there some other way i don't want to lose all the program i have

If it's a sata drive - format & install windows. If IDE - not worth the bother.

Sorry but you have to wipe the hdd drive and reformat and install Windows again. Hope you have the programs on a disc and your files backed up.

Short answer... no. The OS is configured for the old MB drivers setup. Windows should be reinstalled. And that means the programs as well as reinstalling Windows erases all the software's registry entries.. Back up all your documents, photos, music, ssave game positions, etc. and proceed from there.

Back up all programs you want to a external hard drive then format and install.
