Is there any downfall to having an SSD only system?

My current HDD is 160 GB 5400 RPM.

I don't have any needs for huge amounts of space because I stream music and video via internet services.

I was thinking about putting a 256 GB SSD in my system and having it SSD only. Would there be any disadvantages in doing so?

I just upgraded my laptop from a 250GB HDD to a 256GB SSD. Since I was only using about 90GB on the HDD there is no disadvantage whatsoever to using an SSD as my only drive. It boots twice as fast as it used to and feels much more responsive. The only reason to use a HDD is if you need the storage space.

256 might be way to much space. I've two HTPC's that are SSD only. One has a 60gb SSD with about 20GB free (it records to/from my server) and the other one has 128gb SSD mainly because I got it at a great price. The extra space is completely wasted since it never gets used.

thanks for the advice guys, i went with a 256gb ssd because dollar per gb ratio was a bit better on the drives i was looking at, and i plan on having a few games and don't want my drive to be nearly full...
