Advice on new gaming monitor

I've been looking for a new monitor and am trying to find a good one for gaming. I want one around 23" and have been looking at the following two monitors

Is the bump from the 2D monitor to the 3D monitor worth it the extra cost? I don't really plan on playing in 3D(glasses sold seperate) so is the Hz rate really going to be that noticeable?

I have a EVGA GeForce GTX 570 with 2.5G memory.

So is the Asus VG248QE the one to go with or is there a better 3D monitor that I have missed in my searching?

For the price, that's a good option. The best 3d monitor, discounting korean imports and Iiyamas, which are both at least $600, is the $400 Ben QXL2420T. (Which bigcyco and I both have, and will laud the merits of any day. It's got incredible color, great features... it's bloody incredible.)
