So I'm looking to upgrade within the next few months. My current setup is Msi 870s G46 Mobo, 965 Black Edition CPU, GTX 560 GPU, Corsair Vengeance 8gb 1600 RAM, Cougar G700 80+ gold PSU, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Now my mobo is giving me hell. I use the OC Genie and it sets my cpu from 3.4 to 3.8 and my ram from 1333 to the 1k's. It freezes and randomly resets the system during gameplay. I set the ram manually to 1600 and the CPU to 3.5 or 3.6 and it just resets during gameplay. Either its poopoo or im doing something wrong. Anyway, I'm looking to upgrade to an HD 7850 2GB Twin Frozr and a new mobo that supports 1600 or more ram without OCing it. I'd like to stay around $100 for the mobo. I've been looking at two MSi's around the range but see a lot of negative reviews. If anyone has input it would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind this is my first PC and am still learning. Thank you.

Have you tried overclocking manually via the BIOS? You may find that you have more success using that route.

Leave your ram at 1333 until you have found a stable cpu overclock, use prime95 or similar to test stablilty and don't forget to monitor temps.

You don't mention an aftermarket cpu cooler, tho I'm assuming you have one. I wouldn't recommend trying any overclocking with the stock cooler.

I have an CM Hyper 212 Evo cooler. I did set them manually via bios and all my temps seem well within range via CPUID. So I just set them back to stock for now. Any suggestions on a mobo/ GPU? I plan on getting the HD 7850 2GB. I don't want to spend more than $300 on the two together. Definitely want a 2GB GPU though for around $200, which is why I went with the one mentioned.
