Windows 8 problem

windows 8 pc not shutting down,the monitor is going off but the cpu is still running and only cutting off the power makes it to go off.
this started happening since i started using bluestacks and vmware on my windows 8 system initially it was all fine.but iam having this problem now. please help me....

I had the same problem after allowing my PC to 'Sleep'. Try shutting it down before it goes to 'sleep' and if that is successful disable sleep mode by selecting 'never' in Power Options. I'm hoping this will be fixed when the SP comes out...
Otherwise you may have to Refresh your PC or restore it to a time before you installed the new software.

+1 Sadique, definitely a possibility. W8 uses an abbreviated form of hibernate to achieve fast boot. To turn off,
Winkey plus X, choose Command prompt (Admin) and type powercfg hibernate off then Enter.
