Hey guy's I'm looking for a new monitor to buy, one that is not a tube monitor, I've had one of those my entire life, and they are just too heavy and HUGE.
I want a nice 24" or 25" Wide screen Flat Screen LED Monitor and of course with a durable monitor stands.

Most brands have many models that range in quality and features and what's "best" varies by personal taste, and needs.

Some people like high resolution, some people complain pixels are too small or need a more powerful GPU to drive it for 3D games.

Some people love 16x9 aspect ratio because it maps to HD tv content, others prefer even wider aspect ratios while 16x10 monitors have a large following.

Some people hate the grainy look for matte finishes, while others complain glossy screens are unusable with sun/lighting.

Some people hate the color shift of TN panels while others claim IPS are too slow to respond or bleed light on the edges.

Some people hate the lag scalers introduce while others like the ability to run at different resolutions and have analog inputs and on-screen displays.

You're going to have to define your needs/preferences if you want a good answer.

Unfortunately, you're unlikely to find a store where you can actually compare these differences side by side yourself.

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/auria-eq276w-review-ips,review-32664.html

here is a latest review from Tom's you may want to take it as reference according to the technical details.

as a general sense you can go for Samsung, Sony, LG, Asus, Dell, Phillips monitors.

My personal view as "best" for recent monitors is this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236174&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

most importants aspects while deciding (for me):
contrast ratio (such as. 50.000.000:1)
brightness efficiency (300cd/m2)
resolution (1920*1080)
res. ratio (16/9)
latency (2ms)
size (22"-24" for 1080p)

good luck

As In my experience, samsung have good picture, dell have good build, LG have good price...

but in the end the quality will different at each model (even they same brand/manufacturer)...

It need more specify about the budget and main purpose of the monitor. gaming / watching movie / design (printing) / 3D / etc....
