What's up guys...
It's been a long time since I visited this forum...
So, let's get to the point.
As you know, Metro: Last Light is coming out soon and PC requirements are published.
PC requirements are:

Minimum:
Windows: XP (32-Bit), Vista, 7 or 8
CPU: 2.2 GHz Dual Core e.g. Intel Core 2 Duo
RAM: 2GB
Direct X: 9.0c
Graphics Card: DirectX 9, Shader Model 3 compliant e.g. NVIDIA GTS 250 (or AMD equivalent e.g. HD Radeon 4000 series) or higher
For 3D Vision Support:
· NVIDIA GTX 275 or higher
· 120Hz Monitor
· NVIDIA 3D Vision kit for Windows Vista, 7 or 8

Recommended:
Windows: Vista, 7 or 8
CPU: 2.6 GHz Quad Core e.g. Intel Core i5
RAM: 4GB
Direct X: 11
Graphics Card:
NVIDIA GTX 580/660 Ti (or AMD equivalent e.g. 7870) or higher
For 3D Vision Support:
· NVIDIA GTX 580/660Ti or higher
· 120Hz Monitor
· NVIDIA 3D Vision kit for Windows Vista, 7 or 8

Optimum:
Windows: Vista, 7 or 8
CPU: 3.4 GHz Multi-Core e.g. Intel Core i7
RAM: 8GB
Direct X: 11
Graphics Card:
NVIDIA GTX 690 / NVIDIA Titan
For 3D Vision Support:
· NVIDIA GTX 690
· 120Hz Monitor
· NVIDIA 3D Vision kit for Windows Vista, 7 or 8

MY PC IS:
Windows: 7
CPU: 2.8 GHz Quad Core AMD Athlon II
RAM: 4GB
Direct X: 10 (maybe 10.1 but I'm not sure)
Graphics Card:
ATI Radeon HD4850 PowerColor 1 GB

I use 19" screen and play at 1280x1024 resolution, and I do not plan anything about 3D.
I played metro 2033 with this PC on HIGH at this resolution, Direct X 10, and I only shut off anti-aliasing.
But, when I reduce the resolution to 1024x768 I can play on VERY HIGH, Direct X 10, of course only without anti-aliasing.

Keep in mind that developers have said:
Metro: Last Light will work better than Metro: 2033, on the same computer.

By this, I expect VERY HIGH.

Question is clearly.
What do you think?

I agree. Metro 2033, while good-looking, was poorly optimized, even in 2013. Glitches are still prevalent (e.g. cannot remove a max-damaged gas mask). Someone found a good configuration tool where you can adjust more settings to your liking e.g. field of view.

Last light uses the same engine, and is much better optimized this time around. The game will perform better relative to hardware and look better than 2033.

I just hope they make some gameplay refinements. I always look at 2033 as an inherently good game trying its best to be horrible.

I did not know that DirectX 11 increases the requirements in game??? I thought differently. :??:

DX11 is much more difficult for a GPU to run than DX10 or DX9. (Generally, of course)

But it also looks amazing! (DX11)

Let me just say. When Metro 2033 came out there wasn't a system which could proper max it out (even with AA off). My mate bought 2 480s with a fast cpu (which were the current flagship card at the time) and couldn't get above 40fps. With a single 680 I couldn't either. I had to get a SECOND 680 to max out that bitch.

If you're running on that display then you shouldn't have too much to worry about. I would suggest you will get smoother performance at 1024x768. Given that the Recommended card is pitched at what was previously a flagship card and currently a moderately decent card I would not expect it to run at VERY high. Granted they are more than likely pitching those cards for 1080p -which would suck a lot more just than the conventional 4:3 resolutions. It's tought to call. I would guesstimate you could run playable settings on high at 1024x768. I wouldn't say much better.
Metro 2033 was very much a game all about GPU. It wasn't very CPU dependent by comparison to the crysis series, BF3 and Far Cry 3. Given your CPU, I would suggest to lower your expectations so as not to get a rude shock -just to be safe.

Lastly -and I know this isn't what most people want to resort to -you might consider upgrading your GPU. You can pick up a GTX 560 pretty cheap off ebay these days -that'll give you a lot more kick than you're getting now.

I rely heavily on word of developers as I wrote in the post.
We know that this time game will come out for consoles.
Crysis 2 is worked on maximum level of detail at 1280x1024 woith 40-45 FPS.
Far Cry 3, also on maximum settings with 1280x1024 with 40 FPS too.
Metro: Last Light takes place in a predominantly indoors, with minor variations outside, so it's not logical to require space computers for resolution like mine.
By the way, I do not plan to change anything in my PC, because every game works great. Developers have not done a sloppy job, I guess...

That's right, we all have our theories. But all I want is more opinions. For example: do you agree with the words of developers, did you expect that PC requirements be like this or less, do you think that the game looks better than the previous, do you expect better optimization or whether it will be a bad port from console... These are all questions that I would like to hear as many answers, which I think many are interested.
