this is what I have: HP P-7 1414 AMD A-8 5500 APU putting a Radeon HD 7750 D in as the HD7560d is having heat issues CPU=95F /GPU=175F temps while playing The Sims3 + 2 expansion pks for a few hrs. PSU 300w stock. Need suggestion on what is needed in a good price range. will be adding a new HDD as my says "its failing" a couple months ago and yes did complete backup.looking at the Western Digital EW Black.. trying to make sure everything will work together

Okay, a quick PSU voltage guide here... The PSU delivers the following voltages to the computer 3.3v, 5v, 5v VSB (always on power) 12v and -12v. Each voltage has a maximum throughput (amps) that the PSU can provide. With the following formula, we can determine the wattage available, VxA=W (volts multiplied by amps equals watts). Since modern computers are very heavily dependant on 12v availability (and graphics cards increase that demand) that is the amperage number we are most interested in.
The voltage requirements have changed over the years and in some cases manufacturers have either resisted...

The stock OEM 300 Watt PSU should have no problem powering your system with a Radeon HD 7750.

The power supply's total Wattage is not what matters. Its maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating is the most important requirement that needs to be met.

Not saying the VP450 is a bad product. Just not as good as other options. Yes that one is wattage rated 70W more, but it only has 24W more on the 12V rail. It's also not 80+ rated at all while the 380W green is 80+ bronze. I would rather have a 28A 80+ bronze PSU at the same cost as a 30A non rated PSU. Might take the 450 if it was a lot cheaper. But your amazon link and Newegg show both PSUs to be $40-$45.

The 380W green, VP-450, and CX430 should all have no issues running up to around a 7850/650TI.

The voltage requirements have changed over the years and in some cases manufacturers have either resisted updating their designs or kept older designs on the market so users running very old computers can keep them running which is where the concern lies - you really don't want an older designed PSU in a new computer.
I probably just confused you more...
