Hi,
I have an ASSU M5A97 - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M5A97/#support_QVL and I had purchased some PNY 4 GB memory from Best Buy. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/PNY+-+Optima+4GB+PC3-10666+DDR3+DIMM+Desktop+Memory/2327496.p?id=1218532316525&skuId=2327496&st=2327496&cp=1&lp=1
I had 8GB total and then I wanted to get fancy and bump it to 16GB (This machine could use the extra memory for all of the video processing that's done with it.)
When I bought 2 more DIMM's of the same type, I noticed that I started getting some BSODs. I worked on it a bunch and even re-installed Windows 7. I then took out the two other sticks of RAM and things started to normalize.
It was at this point (hindsight is great!) that I read the manual and saw that this memory was not on the recommended list of RAM and probably explained why I was getting those errors.
So, I wanted to ask for suggestions on the best RAM that I can purchase that would work fine in that machine along with the price. I'll be glad to start off at 8GB this time and just leave well enough alone.
TIA
