Acer M3470g desktop?

My first laptop (IBM ThinkPad) lasted almost 8 years. Then I went through two Acer laptops in less than 3 years - the value seems to be there as far as hardware for the price but as far as quality I'm still undecided. The first Acer performed well but lasted just about one week after warranty expired. But I should add that I was not at all nice to that laptop, giving it little care. The second Acer just simply sucked and I gave it away after using it for about a year (wanted an excuse to get a new laptop and had a friend who's son could use it) he managed to kill it within 6 months (I blame his poor surfing habits). I've since (3+ years) been using a Sony Vaio (which cost ~$150 more than the comparative Acer model) and I'm quite pleased with it.
Give the computer a little attention by blowing it out on a regular basis . You may be able to keep it happy and running for a few years to come.
Best advice, keep backups of all hard-to-replace data and programs
I build my own (not that hard - I recommend looking into it) desktops but I imagine the quality translates
