ATA Compatible Build?

I'm looking to upgrade my aging gaming system. I want to build around a GTX 650Ti but I'd also like to keep it cheap and keep my ATA hard drive. This means I'm looking to find a Motherboard, Processor, DDR3 RAM. If I absolutely HAVE to, I'll buy a new hard drive though I'd be losing near 600gig of data if I have to.

Does anyone know if the hard drive is even compatible with the 650Ti?

Hard drive has nothing to do with being compatible with a GPU. It will certainly be the bottle neck on your system though. I would really recommend you use a SATA hard drive as your main system drive at the very least. You could still keep your 600 GB hard drive as a secondary hard drive, therefore not lose your data and still have fair system performance. Just have to find a motherboard that still has a PATA controller on it. They do still make them, usually on lower end to middle range motherboards.

Keep in mind you could also migrate your data from your old PC to a new one.

Hope that helps!

Ok, well let's think worst case solutions. staying with the GTX 650, could someone rattle off some low cost parts or throw me in the right direction? I haven't built a computer before. Closest I came to building was putting a new hard drive in this tower.

Was actually thinking about motherboard compatibility but brain said GPU. My bad.
