So a friend of mine is putting together his PC this afternoon. He decided to forgo a DVD drive to save a bit of cash for now and may wait and put in a Blueray drive later.

I am pretty familiar with doing a flash drive install with Win7, but when I went to find an .iso for him (he is just going to buy a Win 8 Cd from the store and use the key), I could not find a full .iso or an automatic configuration tool for Win 8 the way MS had one for Win 7 on their site.

Does anybody have any advice or link to a walk through on on installing Win 8 without a disk?

Do it as described in the link rgd1101 provided. I was also installed Windows 8 using a USB stick but make sure the stick is large enough to hold all the files. I think the stick needs to be at least 8GB and any data stored on it will be deleted to make the bootable USB stick. Keep in mind also that the mother needs to support booting from USB otherwise it will all be pointless.

I am really not trying to let somebody else do the work for me. I followed that bing.com search link and looked at a half dozen or so sites it linked to. Even after following the chain through many links, I could not find a file download anywhere.
