Will 7970GHZ PCI-E3.0 card have a negative performance on a PCI-E2.0 mobo?

I'm looking at buying the following card:-http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-108-GI

However it's optimised for PCI-E3.0, BUT, it can't possibly saturate a PCI-E2.0 interface as in my mobo so will my mobo really hold it back?
By the way my specs are Mobo BioStar X58, Corei7-920 oc @3.6ghz, OCZ Reaper 12GbDDR3 1440Mhz, Corsair 1000W PSU,

So my question is will my BioStar X58 mobo PCI-E2.0 hold this card back?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't.

I have a XFX 7950 (stock clocks) and have benchmarked in the two slots in my motherboard (Asus P8Z77-V LX) - the first a PCIE3.0x16 slot and the second a PCIE2.0x4 slot 3dmark06 and 3dmark11 and the scores are pretty similar - subjectively I didn't notice a difference in frame rates in BF3 and the original crysis. I see no reason why the 7970 shouldnt perform similarly to the 7950 results I have seen.

3dmark06 PCIE3.0x16 = 29097
3dmark06 PCIE2.0x4 = 26268

3dmark11 PCIE3.0x16 = 7385
3dmark11 PCIE2.0x4 = 7509*

*The increase between PCIE2.0x4 and PCIE3x16 is weird - the graphics score is 7950 at PCIE3.0, 145 greater than at PCIE2.0, but the physics score is 1000 lower at PCIE2.1.

Nope not at all. It ROCKS!!!!!
Crysis 3 it will play maxed at 1080p with slight framerate issues on only VERY HEAVY fighting sequences but even then perfectly playable.
