Can anyone help me.. I put together a pc and I have very little experience wit building. Everything seems good except when I downloaded the drivers for my graphics card it hangs for a second then goes to a black screen and i get the message "amd driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered" this happens when i do any simple task like opening a search engine. I believe everything is connected correctly and I have already re installed windows and still the same thing. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO : (

Does this happen in safe mode? Try to boot to safe mode and test. Otherwise you can try to manually update drivers through device manager and see if it finds anything. Or, make sure you get latest drivers online, the CD ones get outdated very quickly.

Sk8er88, of course it's not going to happen in safe mode - drivers aren't loaded in safe mode.

That being said, OP, you need to completely uninstall your drivers and install new ones. If that doesn't work, we'll look at the possibility of there being an issue with the card. (Powercolor isn't the most reliable brand out there.)

No this problem does not happen when booted in safe mode. I' ve also tried uninstalling the old drivers and getting at lest 3 different versions all with the same problem. Thank you both for the reply.
