I'm looking to build a computer, roughly around 1300 (operating system included in that price). I want to squeeze a much power and upgradeability into the system, and I have very little idea where to start. >,<

This should be a good gaming build without breaking the bank.

CPU prices never drop, and the performance jump is not that much, if you OC the ivybridge CPU you will have more than enough power anyways.

This is a good build but the extreme4 may be a bit expensive, the asus p8z77 V LK or the Gigabyte D3SH may be a bit cheaper and still grant the same performance.

Fractal Design case is again a bit expensive, you should really be looking at the CM HAF 912 or Corsair 300r for a great case with BETTER cooling performance MORE space and a BETTER look. But hey cases are all personal right? Choose the look you like best not what someone else recommends when it comes down to cases.

The XFX PSU is a bit expensive the CX600m would be cheaper and still supply more power, as well as being equal in certification.

Vengeance memory is a bit expensive you should be looking at this: Memory: Patriot Gamer 2 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($47.98 @ NCIX US) Same performance but much better price.

^^^ That looks good but i would throw in a Samsung 840 120GB or 240GB for the OS, add and extra $109 or $200 for that and your golden.

I agree with this action as well.

Those 3 boards are in around the same price with similar features, i just grabbed what I saw first. Again cases are personal preference, I happen to like Fractal cases and you do not. :p

Yes they are pretty much the same in terms of power but the XFX one is made by Seasonic like the rest of their PSUs.

Memory prices are going up now, pretty hard to find a normal 2x4Gb 1600Mhz kit for around $50 now. (Got mine for $30 like a baus)

Also, forgot to include an SSD OP. Grab a Samsung 840 Pro 128Gb or 256Gb SSD and you're off to the races.

Is a solid state really that much of an improvement? I apologize, I should have stated I was going to be gaming and home media. My only concern with SSD is the rather small size for the rather large price.
