I finished building my computer earlier this month and I am having an issue where the GPU produces an intermittent coil whine/squealing noise while the computer is just idle on the desktop or when I am browsing the web. This noise does seem to disappear whenever I load up a game however.
GPU: Sapphire 7950
CPU: i5-3750k
Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LK
PSU: Corsair HX750
HDD: WD Black 1TB
I have RMAed both the PSU and GPU for replacements, but still the noise persists even after swapping in the new components. The AMD Catalyst Control Center shows the GPU activity spiking to 40% and the temperature raising about 8 degrees whenever the coil whine happens. Any ideas what the problem is here?
