mSATA SSD as the Only Drive?

Hey wise ones,

I just got an mSATA SSD by accident, rather than a normal 2.5"

Now my friend that owns the laptop has to fly off in a couple of days, so I want to know if I can take out his old hard drive completely and use only the mSATA SSD like a normal drive.

I appreciate any help, opinions, or additional input that could lead to a solution!

Thanks in advance!

You could do it fine if the laptop had an open msata port, but it's doubtful that it does.
  2. Thats what i use in my GE60... you can boot with it...

I use my HDD as a storage/backup drive...
  3. Yes, it can be done. Assuming his laptop has a mSATA port.
