So as you can see my total is at 1477+~100= ~1600 total...I somehow need to get that down to 1200..I believe the case I picked is overkill, but am sure I want an SSD. I would like to get the Radeon 7970..but it seems very expensive, that and the i5 are what I mainly build around. Please help! Thanks!

Where's the PSU ?

Case and PSU for $200 - $20 MIR, ya $20 ahead and have a PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1278878

Get a matched pair of RAM + $6

Consider the 660 Ti for $279 ... saves $170 ... later on get a second one in SLI ... two 660 Ti's toast the 7970 and 680

ASUS P8Z77-V LK saves $15 and still gives SLI / CF option for future and 650 watter can handle 2 660 Ti's

The 128 GB SSD saves...

Hey,

Do you plan on overclocking? If so then i suggest a CPU cooler like the cooler master hyper 212 for ~$29, if not then you could go for a cheaper CPU and motherboard, although I would keep the unlocked CPU as it overclocks quite nicely.

Your case is $199 you could get something like a NZXT Switch 810 for $159 or something else that is cheaper. Also you seem not to have a power supply.

Did you factor in the cost of Windows 7 or 8?

Here is a quick suggestion to lower the cost of your build:
http://microcenter.com/product/388577/Core_i5_3570K_34GHz_LGA_1155_Processor
^^ Same processor but sold by microcenter, its $189 instead of $219 on newegg.

Hope this helps!

I would suggest against that "storage" option as it is a refurbished hard drive, and those can be highly unreliable and can cause data loss when they eventually fail. Never buy refurbished hard drives, as those are ones that have malfunctioned and have been repaired for resale or have had some other issues.

The 128 GB SSD saves $70 ....

All together .... that makes $275 ya need

The only "sacrifice" ya made is in the GFX card and when ya save just $100 more than the $170 ya didn't spend on the 7970, you can get a 2nd one and you'll be far faster than the 7970. The same SSD just half the size. A super case and PSU
