Hello,

I needed help trying to pick motherboards. I read up on some specifications and am trying to choose one.

Here are two potential MoBos:

ASUS P8Z77-V PRO/THUNDERBOLT LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Any quick pros and cons or recommendations of other boards?

This is mainly being built for gaming. Also can that MoBo support 3D or is that determined by something else?

Thanks!

Well I have not been back with intel for very long just since January but I built my i5 rig with the Asus Z77 Sabertooth and I must say so far I really like it. It does everything I wanted and in my opinion has a really nice look. Thunderbolt was not something I needed but I was looking at that board also in the end I choose the Sabertooth and it has been a good fit for my build.

Hi, TaskinRahman Welcome to the community

As far as 3D capabilities go i would recommend the Z77, as it has 3 PCI e x16 3.0 slots, which basically means that you can run your graphics cards faster in those slots.

It also supports SLI, which means you can run any graphics card of your choice and run them together to get even more Frames Per Second.

But what else do you want to do?, you know there are motherboards such as the Sabertooth x79 motherboard:

https://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=sabertooth+x79+motherboard&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.45960087,d.d2k&biw=1920&bih=979&pdl=300&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=0ZGHUfziCoS2hAerlYGYBQ#imgrc=QeA1eklL3PvgKM%3A%3B_X0_PftNK54TkM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.legitreviews.com%252Fimages%252Freviews%252F1757%252FSabertooth-X79.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.legitreviews.com%252Farticle%252F1757%252F2%252F%3B550%3B684

Which has 8 available slots of RAM if you're looking to have masses of amounts of RAM in your rig.

Just like the z77, It has 3 PCI e x16 3.0 slots ready for SLI and such.
