The problem would be static electricity shorting the whole thing. I would suggest that you use either canned air or a vacuum instead. If these are not available to you then a soft cleaning cloth and attention to seeing that it doesn't get snagged would be better. You might be OK with the paintbrush, but I wouldn't chance it.

No water, if you must moisten use rubbing alcohol and do not power up until all of the residue has evaporated. But canned air or a vacuum would be better.
