i need help with overclocking my i7-3820

hi there

guys I have no idea AT ALL how to overclock my cpu..I dunno how to enter to my bios..could someone help me plz

pc specification if its necessary
processor: i7 3820 3.6Ghz
Graphic card: GTX 680 4GB FTW "2" SLI
Ram: 16Gb
Hard disk: primary SSD 500Gb..secondary HDD 500 Gb
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth x79
Powersupply: 1000 watt
Case: Corsair
Cooling System: 7 controllable Fans and Liquid cooling on the CPU "asetek 570LC"

dunno if that good to overclock my cpu

if you dont even know how to enter the bios then not sure you should muck about trying to overclock it

thats a partially locked cpu so to get a very high overclock you need to increase the bclk

which will also overclock the ram

what sort of speed were you thinking of overclocking to?

and what speeds your ram?

check ram speeds in the bios

think the maximum multiplier for that cpu is 44

so for 4.5ghz you need a multiplier x bclk that makes 4500

ie something like 44 x 102.5

could also use a lower multiplier and higher bclk

but then would overclock the ram more

if you have 1600mhz ram then it should run 102.5 bclk as thats a small ram overclock

I just realized that my cpu already overclocked :s dunno how or who did this ..I googled how to enter to the bios and check my cpu this is I picture of my bios

it certainly is

better keep an eye on your temperatures

use realtemp or similar

and cpuz to see the actual cpu voltage when its under load

1347mhz for the ram is ok if its 1600mhz ram

because of the very high bclk your ram may have to be underclocked
