6 beeps with new gaphics card?Message title

Hi

when i insert my new graphics card, plug in 6 pin PCI and plug in the monitor into card i get 6 beeps and blank monitor.....
take out the monitor plug and put it into normal port, all ok.
could it be the monitor adapter is faulty? as I only get 6 beeps when the monitor is plugged in to graphics card.

It means GPU failure I read some where on Google. It's new so you may be able to RMA it. More info please though, as maybe your power supply can't power it. What GPU and what PSU do you have?

Edit: Further Google searches have lead me to believe it could be anything : ( Good night and sorry I am of not much help. Maybe others can trouble shoot this for you if you did indeed, leave your system specs for them to see.

I have a 500w 80+ PSU that is new and more than enough.

it has intergrated 7450D graphics, ive even disabled it to see if that works.

Im not a very PC minded person, but know enough to change bits, when you say GPU failure, like what?

Please post a full system spec, especially ur motherboard so that people can help you out.

If you still have motherboard manual, look under the "troubleshoot" setting and look for 6 beeps. You can download it from the manufacturer website as well.

Some mobo have mixture of long and short beeps so please make sure what type of sound it make (e.g short 6 beeps or 1long and 5short beeps, etc..)
