Hi all,

I don't really know much about this so please forgive my stupidness.

I've read a lot of discussions regarding to the privacy/data collection issue on Steam and Origin. I just want to have some feedbacks on whether my conclusions are correct:

1) Currently for Steam, they will collect your data (outside of Steam game activities) IF I opt-in (agree to do the survey). If I choose not to do the survey, and not to import any non-Steam game into the library, there will be absolutely no data being scanned/collected other than my Steam activities, chats, on/offline time.

2) Currently for Origin, you cannot opt-out the data collection. They are not scanning your hard drive but you will never know when they will decide to do it. Currently, we are safe, but in theory they have the ability to scan/read everything if they want to.

Question:

Q1) Assume Steam/Origin at some point decided to scan my hard drive. Will they be able to scan the data in different users account?

Q2) Let's say I have 2 HDD and 1 SSD; installed Windows on the SSD (C:\) and treat my HDDs as D:\ and E:\, all under one user. Will they be able to scan all these drives, or just the hard drive with windows installed?

Q3) Or the only way is to install two Windows 7 in on two hard drives on the same desktop... one for pure gaming, one for everything else........

Thanks for reading. Feel free to type/explain as much as you want. I will read everything you write. Appreciate your time.
