So I recently put a rig together which looks like this:

I5 3570k processor @ 3.4 GHZ
GTX 670 FTW 2gb video card
8 gbs of memory
120 gb SSD
Acer 27' 3d monitor (Acer 3D Series H274HL)

I've been trying to run Battlefield 3 in 3d @ 1920x1080 and it won't let me. Any clue as to why I can't run it? It'll only let me run 3d at a lower resolution setting.

Solution
If I'm not mistaken, The HDMI standard does not allow the 1920X1080 resolution in 3D at more than 24Hz(at least not a current version of it yet) Try connecting your PC to the monitor with a DVI or DisplyPort cable and see if the problem goes away.

What video connection type(e.g. DVI) are you using to connect your PC to the monitor, And How does it not let you play in 3D? Does it simply run in 2D at a higher resolution?

It's connected via HDMI from the PC's video card to the monitor. It'll let me play it in 3d but at a lower resolution and not 1920x1080. Isn't that supposed to be better? It just says across the screen "Not compatible with 1920x1080" then it tells me to use a lower resolution. How do I know what the best setting to get the best picture and quality out of my setup?

Thank you for your help by the way its greatly appreciated.

If it's a 3D Vision ready game(which Battlefield 3 is and for other games you can check the list which should be under "view compatibilty with games" in the Nvidia control panel) then select the highest settings your PC can handle without lag, If it's not a 3D Vision ready game, then the list should also suggest what settings to use for that game(and if it doesn't, then just try various settings to see which one looks best on that game)
