Hi,

I installed a new cpu in my mobo, I have a asrock alive-xfire esata2 r3.0 and I installed the best cpu available as per the manufacturer's cpu list, the phenom ii x4 965 3.4ghz.
Now the problem is that sometimes when my pc restarts or I am powering on I get no display, no beeps and no bios load. When this happens I simply reset and it boots after like about 5secs or so. I had initially bios version 4.0 then I tried downgrading to version 3.5 as per a recommendation site I found about my board relating to this cpu. But again the problem remains.
Any thoughts?

Thank You.

It could be a setting in the BIOS - make sure you set everything to "default" or "failsafe" for testing purposes. Make sure overclocking, RAM speeds, etc...are all set to the correct settings. When BIOS updates are put out, sometimes there are new features that are enabled/disabled or changed...

wow, well after I did that the pc won't even load the bios, when it does boot it says the something about file is possibly corrupt and I got no keyboard support. I have to reset alot of times to actually get it to boot but then I can't do anything because the keyboard is not working. As typing was waiting to see if it will start then I got a constant beeping, fast and non stop

You may need to "clear" the CMOS settings. There is a jumper labeled "CLRCMOS1" - by default the jumper is on pins 1/2. Change it to 2/3. You need to power down the computer, unplug the power supply, wait 15 seconds, then change the jumper for 5 seconds. Then return it to pins 1/2.

Where you able to get you BIOs flashed back to a version that works?

Hope so. I think your problem is not the BIOS but the RAM as sugested by Ronin. ASrocks have a limitted list of RAM manufactures that they support stably. I would double check the RAM you have with ASRocks webpage to make sure it is supported.

i only see non-raid, raid and ahci mode, upon trying the ahci mode, while it says windows loading files, it stuck about quarter way. Will wiping my hard drive solve this or I don't need to go to that extent yet

oki I have installed, I think the ram was the problem, I removed the sticks one by one to see when it will come one and I replaced a 2gb stick with a 1gb that I had. If any further problems I will let you all know, thanks alot guys for the help
