Hey, I have been reading up on GPUs and browsing newegg for the better part of 6 hours now... and I just need help selecting a GPU. I don't know to much about computer hardware...

The most important factor is that I can run all the new games on ULTRA, minus maybe motion blur(hurts my eyes, i dont think its very realistic) and that I won't have to upgrade for at least 2-3 years. (Games 2 years from now dont have to run on max settings)
Also, I want to be able to FRAPS high quality gaming

I have an Intel i7 CPU 920@ 2.67 GHz, 2668 Mhz, 4 Cores, 8 Logical

9Gbs RAM

I do have a PCIe slot, im currently using a GTX 260
It also needs an HDMI port so I can plug it into my TV, although I wont be doing the hardcore gaming on there and wont care to lower the graphics for TV use.

I have a budget anywhere from 300-500. But if I can get a card @ 350-400, instead of 500-550 on a card that is only 10% better... I would rather spend less.

I also have been getting conflicting information that 660Ti is only a little less than 670. Other people say the 670 is way better. Other just say go with the 680... if you can find a deal.

Thanks,
A.

The system has plenty of power available from that i7 but you should consider overclocking it, if not now then next year, to further extend the life of the machine.
You may need to upgrade the power supply, it would not be wise to use 6 to 8 pin power adaptors if the existing unit lacks 8-pin PCI-E power leads.
Either the GTX670 or HD7970 would be a suitable upgrade, the GTX680 is just too expensive given its performance.
