connects with modem, but not with router

Hi. I can get internet if I connect my pc directly to the modem, but when I plug into the dlink router I cannot get the internet at all. shows a red X on my connection bos

The router needs to be configured according to the modem's config, i.e. the router needs to "see" the web through the modem. You need to access the router's admin settings and configure it. You can get the settings from the modem to make sure the router is configured properly.
